Manchester City confirms opening of Etihad Campus museum

Manchester City has confirmed that its new Manchester City Museum Experience will open on 14 December, with tickets now on sale. The attraction sits within Medlock Square, the club's £300m hospitality and entertainment district at the Etihad Campus in Manchester.

Designed by Ralph Appelbaum Associates (RAA), the museum spans more than 1,700 square metres across ten interactive spaces. It combines immersive media and technology with original artefacts, taking visitors through recreated environments from the club's history, from its roots in Moss Side and Maine Road through to the Etihad era. Interactive features include the chance to pose with the club's 48 major trophies and to try football punditry.

The museum will open with a temporary exhibition marking ten years of Pep Guardiola as manager. Jeremy Maxton, Director of Visitor Attractions at Manchester City, described the museum as "a destination that goes beyond just the pitch."

The museum will complement the club's existing stadium tour, which ranks among the UK's top five visitor attractions on TripAdvisor and includes the Premier League's first virtual reality experience.

It is one of several elements of Medlock Square, which also includes The Medlock, a Radisson Blu hotel; restaurants and bars including Zadie's, Little Beast, Blend and Three Rivers Brasserie; a three-floor flagship CityStore delivered with PUMA and retail partner stichd; and a rooftop adventure at the stadium. The club says the district is designed to operate year-round, extending the Etihad Campus offer beyond matchdays.
