Apple Music Hall set to open Inside London's Battersea Power Station

Apple has announced it will open Apple Music Hall, a 600-seat live-music venue built into Battersea Power Station in London, alongside the company's existing European campus at the same site.

This represents a different kind of entrant into physical live-music infrastructure. Venue ownership has traditionally belonged to promoters, operators, and real estate groups -- such as Live Nations, AEGs and Oak View Groups of the industry -- not consumer technology companies. Apple already has a music platform, a radio arm in Apple Music 1, and now a way to capture and distribute a live performance across all of it without depending on a third-party venue or production company. That provides a unique business logic than a promoter opening a room to sell tickets.

Apple's European campus has occupied part of Battersea Power Station since 2022, in a Foster + Partners-designed office fit-out, and the venue continues that relationship -- its design, led by Apple Places VP Kristina Raspe, keeps the power station's original exposed brick, structural steel and art deco detailing rather than concealing them.
